dattebayo!
I've watched all 220 episodes of Naruto. (This soaring sense of accomplishment is unduly magnified by how sucky other areas of one's exsistence have been lately, so roll with me or ignore this.) What's more, I wrote a recap on all of them, which are up at RPG.net and will be thrown up once-a-day on the Recap Avalanche.

You know what? All things considered, it's not a bad little show. Hinata Hyuga is love.

Merry Christmas to everybody from the future, or possibly the past. I leave you with the holiday song closest to my heart. You keep Christmas in your way and I'll keep Christmas in mine.

Deactivated my Facebook and Myspace accounts. It was telling that, on Facebook, they gave me a list of three people who OH NOES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH ME!!! I'm seeing them all tomorrow. I think I'm good.

I just worked 11 hours, and watched a sand demon fight a giant toad. I'm in a weird place right now.

And it is awesome.

Writer's Block: Eat, Drink, Be Merry

Thanksgiving is almost here in the U.S., heralding the start of the holiday season and the first of many meals where you might be confronted with a traditional dish that you happen to find disgusting. What holiday food do you hate to see on the table?

Raisin and carrot salad. GEH. I don't like it at the best of the times, but if it slithers its way to the Thanksgiving table, you can count me out. Also, orange generally clashes with the rest of the spread, so it's a taste issue of two kinds.

the rewards of the pop culture.
Today, I received this for my Naruto thread.

Also a picture of an attractive female cosplaying as one of the show's girl ninjas. Double-word score!

On RPG.net I posted a recap thread on Naruto, wherein I was going to watch every episode I could get my hands on legally and post my thoughts and suchlike about it. I just finished episode 40, and people've looked at it more than three thousand times. That's more than three hundred tens! I find this amazing.

It's here. I like the show. Also, um, spoilers.

ramble.
Once upon a time, I and another fellow did a netbook on the southeast for a game called Nightbane that you probably haven't heard of. It was entitled Shadows of the South, and focused on Atlanta and New Orleans, or the only southern cities I thought were interesting enough to talk about. It was not very well done, in your traditional Earth sense, though many people enjoyed it at the time and that's as gratifying as it always is. I like to think it possessed a ragged charm and enthusiasm, and hopefully covered up the fact I was cribbing like mad from the newly-discovered (then) books of White Wolf and the first Gabriel Knight computer game.

I also know for a fact I was in love with putting musical quotes at the beginning of each chapter.

The dude who I did it with was a great guy, and as with the hallmark of all good partnerships, we each thought the other did the best stuff. I made a character who was a cross between Robert E. Lee and Satan, he did a vigilante group based off the Blues Brothers. He wins. I stumbled across something he's done recently, and I'm glad he's doing well. Chad was and I suspect still is, a Good Guy.

This rant was done because I did a search on the netbook itself, and people still remembered. Man.

Now I recap Naruto episodes on RPG.net. It's strangely fufilling.

I spent All Hallow's Eve watching Ghostbusters and handing out fun-sized versions of candy to children bedecked in the latest of pop culture. I saw many a Hannah Montana and Clone Trooper.

It was suprisingly satisifying.

i forgot to mention.
Captain America #43, out last week, finally shattered my carefully nutured, nigh-on three decades' worth of my suspension of disbelief. Just broke mine over its knee, like I was a caped crusader and it was a Santa Priscan ex-con. (Those of you who got that... ha, ha! Nerd.)

Anyway, it finds new Captain America Bucky doing something I believe we all would find implausible. Just ridiculous.

He leaves behind the Black Widow, clad only in a bedsheet and a smirk, to fight a French-speaking master of savate.*

Congratulations, Mr. Brubaker. I can never read another comic again. Save maybe Usagi Yojimbo, because that be da bomb. Er. Yo.

*Savate is the French art of foot-boxing! But you knew that.

rest in peace, Dolemite.
We mourn the passing of Rudy Ray Moore. I can't think of a more fitting epitaph than he was the man who killed Monday, whooped Tuesday and put Wednesday in the hospital, then called up Thursday to tell Friday not to bury Saturday on Sunday.

Holler.

So Terminator's ratings Monday were declared 'armageddon-like.' Fortunately, this being a show on Fox, I considered it cancelled a long time ago. Before it started, in fact. Also, I can start watching Chuck again.

By the way, would you like to go ahead and sign a petition to save Dollhouse before it premieres?

Your result for The Classic Leading Man Test...

Humphrey Bogart

You're the original man of honor, rough and tough but willing to stick your neck out when you need to, despite what you might say to the contrary. You're a complex character full of spit and vinegar, but with a soft heart and a tender streak that you try to hide. There's usually a complicated dame in the picture, someone who sees the real you behind all the tough talk and can dish it out as well as you can. You're not easy to get next to, but when you find the right partner, you're caring and loyal to a fault. A big fault. But you take it on the chin and move on, nursing your pain inside and maintaining your armor...until the next dame walks in. Or possibly the same dame, and of all the gin joints in all the world, it had to be yours. Co-stars include Ingrid Bergman and Lauren Bacall, hot chicks with problems.

Find out what kind of classic dame you'd make by taking the
